Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding the insurance claims process can be confusing—especially when you’re dealing with property damage. Below are answers to the most common questions we receive from homeowners and business owners across Northeast Florida.

A Public Adjuster is a licensed insurance professional who represents policyholders, not insurance companies. Unlike the adjuster assigned by your insurance carrier, a Public Adjuster works exclusively on your behalf to ensure your claim is accurately documented and fairly paid according to your policy.

Insurance companies are businesses focused on minimizing payouts. A Public Adjuster helps level the playing field by:

  • Identifying hidden or overlooked damage
  • Preparing detailed estimates and documentation
  • Interpreting policy language correctly
  • Negotiating directly with the insurance company

Many claims are underpaid simply because the damage was not fully documented or properly presented.

You can contact a Public Adjuster at any stage of a claim, including:

  • Before filing a claim
  • After filing but before settlement
  • After a denial
  • If you believe your settlement is too low

The sooner APS is involved, the more control we have over the outcome—but it’s never too late to ask for help.

APS handles most residential and commercial property damage claims, including:

  • Wind & hurricane damage
  • Roof damage
  • Water damage
  • Fire & smoke damage
  • Denied or underpaid claims
  • Reopened and supplemental claims

There is no upfront cost to hire Absolute Property Solutions. Our fee is a percentage of the settlement we help recover and is only paid after you receive payment from the insurance company.

If there is no recovery, there is no fee.

No. In many cases, hiring a Public Adjuster actually speeds up the process by eliminating errors, reducing back-and-forth, and ensuring proper documentation is submitted from the beginning.

Yes. Many denied claims can be reopened if damage was overlooked, improperly evaluated, or policy language was misapplied. APS reviews denied claims to determine whether further action is warranted.

Once APS is retained, we handle communication with the insurance carrier on your behalf. This reduces stress, avoids misstatements, and ensures all discussions are documented properly.

Every claim is different. Timeline depends on factors such as:

  • Type and extent of damage
  • Insurance company response time
  • Scope disputes or additional inspections

APS works to move your claim forward as efficiently as possible while ensuring accuracy and fairness.

Yes. APS offers free inspections and consultations with no obligation. We’ll review your situation, explain your options, and let you decide how to proceed.
